# Test AI agent payments in the sandbox

> Test the whole flow with test funds on our demo merchant.

Your invite opens a sandbox organization, where you test the whole flow. Your agent enrolls with Praesia, interviews you to write your mandate, gets a single-use card for each approved purchase and pays at a checkout. Everything works as it will with real money, but no real money moves and no real stay is booked.

Test funds pay only at Calvesta Hotels. You can approve a mandate for any kind of purchase. On a real site, your agent warns you that a test payment can't succeed, and the site refuses the test card if you go ahead. Paying other merchants arrives with live mode.

## Run your first purchase

**1. Set up your agent**

Send your agent this message with your skill link, then follow the [Quickstart](https://docs.praesia.ai/quickstart.md) until it asks for a mandate. Praesia may take a few minutes to prepare your organization.

**2. Answer the mandate interview**

Your agent asks three questions, one at a time. You can answer like this:

Your agent budget starts at the same amount, and you can't change it yet. Keep it high enough for the tests below.

Your agent then shows you the draft. Say OK, open the approval link and approve with your passkey.

**3. Ask for a stay**

Your agent asks for your dates, then finds a hotel that fits on the demo site.

**4. See the result**

Your agent pays with its single-use card and tells you the outcome. The console shows the paid purchase, and your funds drop by its total.

## What to try next

Hotel Pinamara is a 3-star hotel, so it breaks your 4-star rule. See it refused, change your rules, then book it again.

## Add agents and mandates

Your sandbox can hold more than one agent and more than one mandate. Every agent draws on the same test funds.

| "Write a new mandate for office supplies." | The mandate interview, a draft to confirm, then a new approval link. Test funds still pay only at Calvesta Hotels, so this mandate has no purchase to pay here. |
